Scouting Report. Cornerback. 3. player. Pick Analysis. Ohio State. Jeffrey Okudah. 50

If Ohio State ended up seeing two of their star players go back-to-back early on in the first round in Young and Jeffrey Okudah, this wouldn’t come as a surprise at all since they are two of the top defenders from this year’s draft class for a reason.

When it comes to the Detroit Lions, the team will be in position to consider numerous positions with the No. 3 pick in the first round, and while cornerback isn’t the top need, Okudah could be too good of a player to pass on.

Talent wise, Okudah is arguably the top cornerback from this year’s draft class, and Matt Patricia’s defense could benefit in a big way if the Buckeyes star were to end up joining the Lions’ defense.

Watching Detroit finish 3-12-1 in 2019 despite two wins in September shows how rough the final three months were for the Lions, and there’s no question Patricia will most likely enter the 2020 season on the hot seat as a result of the last two years.

From quickness with his feet to amazing ability to read opponent’s routes, it seems like only a matter of time before Okudah works his way into the conversation of great Ohio State cornerbacks finding success in the NFL.

As previously mentioned, the Lions have a few areas they could focus on with the No. 3 pick, but with all of the potential surrounding Okudah, this scenario seems too good for Detroit to pass on.
