3 potential free agent targets for Eagles from Bills in 2020
By Dan Parzych
1. Jordan Phillips
Unfortunately, the argument can be made that Jordan Phillips hasn’t exactly lived up to his previous hype in the NFL after the Miami Dolphins decided to use a second-round pick on the Oklahoma product back in 2015.
In the middle of his fourth season with the Dolphins, the team decided to release Phillips before the Bills decided to claim the defensive tackle off waivers to provide another weapon to work with on defense.
Turns out, a fresh start on a new team turned out to be the best thing to happen to Phillips when seeing how he managed to start nine of 16 games in 2019 while setting a new career of 9.5 sacks.
Take into consideration that Phillips only recorded 5.5 sacks in less than four years with the Dolphins, this is the perfect example of the impact he can make in the right system, and the Bills were clearly a better fit over the Dolphins.
As a result of Phillips having a career year in 2019, there’s a good chance the Eagles would need to open up their checkbook since the asking price is expected to be high.
Not to mention, if Philadelphia were to express interest in Phillips, chances are they would be competing with Buffalo as well since the Bills were obviously thrilled to see the defender elevate his game to new levels this past season.
