. . Grant Delpit. . player. 817.

We all know the Eagles’ situation at safety. Ever since his arrival, Malcolm Jenkins has been wearing the Infinity Gauntlet for the Eagles as he’s been as close as any mortal man can be to Marvel’s Tony Starks character, but even though he never comes off of the field, he can’t play forever.

Then, there’s Rodney McLeod. Last season was arguably his best as an Eagle after ending the 2018-2019 campaign on the team’s IR (injured reserve). Together, they make up the best safety tandem in the NFL, but they’re also one of the oldest.

Jenkins has already stated that he won’t play under his deal as it’s currently constructed and for McLeod’s run in Philly to continue, he’ll need a new deal as well. Even if Philly keeps both of them, they’ll need depth. One or the other could leave. Both could leave, but if both stay, there isn’t much behind them. That’s what makes LSU’s Grant Delpit so interesting.

He’s six-foot-three. He weighs 208 pounds, and in his final run with the ‘Bayou Bengals’, he tallied 59 tackles, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, and a sack. He can play man coverage on safeties, and he’s good against the run. Keep an eye on him. His already-high stock could improve as things move on.
