. . . Anfernee Jennings, linebacker. . player. 829

The lack of attention the Eagles have historically shown to the linebacker position has been well documented, especially since Jim Schwartz arrived, but occasionally, they hit the bullseye.

It’s unlikely that they address the second level early as many believe they’ll go with a wide receiver and a cornerback with their first two picks, but they’ll need to place a few linebackers on the draft board just in case April’s selection meeting unfolds in unexpected fashion (something that it tends to do).

If they go the route of waiting on one of the more well-known positions of need, they could shock us all by taking a pass rusher or one of the many gifted prospects featured at the second level. If that’s the plan, Anfernee Jennings is as good a guy to take as any.

Jennings can play both the inside and outside linebacker positions. He’s six-foot-three inches tall. He weighs 262 pounds, and in 2019, he registered a very impressive 83 tackles, eight sacks, five pass breakups, and an interception.

He’s been given first-round grades, but people have also seen him as a Day 2 prospect. We’ll have to wait and see how he performs at Alabama’s Pro Day and at Indy for the combine.
