. . . Shyheim Carter, safety/cornerback. . player. 829

As mentioned, ten members of the Tide are invited to the NFL Combine. They include everyone already mentioned, Shyheim Carter, who could be a safety or a corner at the pro level, offensive lineman Jedrick Wills Jr, defensive lineman Raekwon Davis, linebacker Terrell Lewis, defensive back Xavier McKinney, and someone that you may have heard of, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Seeing as how Philly’s fans have a vested interest in what their team does at cornerback, it would be wise to circle Shyheim Carter’s name.

He’s six-foot-tall, weighs 195 pounds, and figures to come off of draft boards somewhere between Round 4 and Round 6. He racked up 43 tackles, an interception, and seven pass breakups in 2019. He did well at the East-West Shrine Game and figures to be a slot corner or safety at the pro level.

Xavier McKinney is another name to watch, though it’s difficult to envision a scenario in which he lands on the Philadelphia Eagles’ roster. That is unless the debunk the wide receiver theories in Round 1 and trade up to get a shot at landing McKinney. He may come off of draft boards before the Eagles make their selection at 21. He’s that good, and a strong Pro Day and combine will only increase his standing even more.
