Isaiah Simmons, LINEBACKER. . player. 879. . .

Linebacker Isaiah Simmons is so good that if there was some way that he might slip to 21, he could entice the Eagles to ignore what we all figure to be the plan, Philly’s selection of a wide receiver or a cornerback at pick 21.

While both of those scenarios seem unlikely (Simmons probably isn’t going to slide and the Eagles should and almost have to take a wide receiver or a cornerback at pick number 21), the ‘Birds’ will, no doubt, do their due diligence and scout every prospect that gets a first-round grade.

With that being said, throw Simmons’ name onto the draft board. He also fills a need, linebacker. Now, we all know that the Eagles almost never put any draft capital into finding great ones to play the position, Simmons gives them someone they can depend on for a decade.

He’s six-foot-three. He weighs 230 pounds, and he figures to run the 40-yard dash in about 4.5 seconds. It will be hard for NFL running backs to get away from him. The ones at the college level sure didn’t have a ton of success in doing so. Simmons racked up 96 tackles, six sacks, three interceptions, six pass breakups, and a forced fumble. That includes 13 tackles with two interceptions in the ACC Championship Game and in the opening round of the College Football Playoff.
