A.J. Terrell, CORNERBACK. . player. 879. . .

Okay, with all of that talk about cornerbacks, we have to bring up the guy that’s arguably the best of the ones the Tigers fielded during the 2019-2020 season.

During his 2018-2019 season with Clemson, one that ended up with the Tigers raising the College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy, A.J. Terrell played ‘Robin’ to Trayvon Mullen‘s ‘Batman’. He wound up with 54 tackles, three interceptions, and three pass breakups at season’s end.

One year later as the guy, he added 21 more tackles, two picks, and another pass breakup to his resume. He’s got decent size at six-foot-two and 190 pounds. He’s expected to come off of draft boards sometime between Round 2 and Round 3, but the tape on him from his final game demonstrates quite a few of his flaws.

Against the best competition that he faced all season, the LSU Tigers attacked him over and over again, and the guys from the other ‘Death Valley’ often found great results when they did so. He’ll need to beef up some and get some excellent coaching is he’s to be a day-one starter on the outside. He doesn’t seem to have the physical gifts to do anyone any good in the slot corner position.

He’s still definitely worth a serious look though.
