. . D'Andre Swift, RUNNING BACK. . player. 814.

It’s safe to say that terms like ‘an embarrassment of riches’ can be used whenever any program can walk into their Spring Game and their third-string running back is a future first-round pick in the draft at football’s highest level, but that was exactly the position the Dawgs were in when, in 2017, they fielded future NFL starters Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, and D’Andre Swift.

How did the freshman do? Not too shabby actually. He toted the rock 73 times for 597 yards and three touchdowns. You saw the part about him being third-string right? It kind of makes you wonder why Georgia would throw the ball at all, but that’s another story for another day.

For his career (43 games), Swift carried the ball 440 times for 2,885 yards and 20 touchdowns. He caught another 73 receptions for 666 yards and five touchdowns.

That’s 6.2 yards per rush in his final year ‘between the hedges’ if anyone is curious.

Swift landing on Philly’s roster is doubtful. They’re slated to pick 21st, and Swift should be gone by then. Then, there’s the other thing. The Eagles are probably addressing the cornerback and wide receiver positions with their early picks, but you can’t have a draft board if Swift isn’t on it.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t wind up with a rival’s roster either.
