2. Can we trust Howie?

Here’s what we know. Eagles vice president and general manager Howie Roseman is devoted to the success of this team and will do anything within the rules and within his power to ensure that winning is the result of his efforts.

Here’s something else that we may need to accept as the truth. Good old Howie may not be as good at his job as we give him credit for being. Sure, he’s the guy that brought in Chris Long, and Nick Foles, Alshon Jeffery, and many of the other pieces that helped the Eagles win their first Super Bowl, but more often than not, there have been more misses than hits.

Despite winning the NFL’s Executive of the Year Award after the 2017-2018 season, some of the moves that Roseman’s made and some of the draft picks that have been selected under his watch might lead some to believe that the success Philly’s GM experienced during their Super Bowl run was more about catching lightning in a bottle than anything else.

Draft picks aren’t working out. Free-agent acquisitions are taking more from the team in terms of salary than the team is getting out of them in terms of production. This is a big offseason for Howie Roseman and the ‘Birds’. He needs to make wise decisions with Philly’s cap space. The ‘Birds’ have to nail on all of those draft choices. If they don’t we need to seriously re-evaluate what ‘Howie Season’ really means.
