player. 819. . . . Chase Claypool, wide receiver.

There isn’t an Eagles fan on the planet that doesn’t want their ‘Birds’ to take a wide receiver in the draft by the time the end of April comes around, and of the two Irish wideouts that got invited to the combine, Chase Claypool earns the highest grades among pro scouts.

It seems as though we should dedicate a few paragraphs to one of the most physically gifted wideouts coming into the pro game.

Claypool has both size and speed, standing at six-foot-four and weighing 229 pounds. He’s projected to run the 40-yard dash in about 4.5 seconds, and in each of the past two seasons, he caught more than 50 passes, giving him 150 receptions for his 45-game career. Add that to 2,159 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns, and you can see why he’s been invited to the NFL Combine and why he’ll have quite a few NFL scouts hanging out at Notre Dame’s Pro Day to get as many looks as possible.
