You may have forgotten about him, but Corey Clement is a restricted free agent who won’t have much of a market because of injuries. His biggest value may be to the Eagles as a special teams contributor, particularly as a kick returner, but he’s also shown the ability to make some plays out of the backfield.

His presence, if he stays healthy, should ensure the Eagles have some depth if either Sanders or Scott begin to wear down over the course of a 16-game season.

No one will ever forget the role he played as an undrafted rookie in helping to contribute to the Eagles’ Bowl 52 victory over the New England Patriots. Clement racked up 100 yards and a touchdown on four receptions in that game, helping to propel the Eagles to 41 points and the first Lombardi Trophy in the franchise’s history.

Clement’s return would solidify the backfield depth chart, with the four running back spots being comprised of Sanders, Howard, Scott, and Clement. That would mean that they’d enter the season with the running back position being a real source of strength for the offense.
