54. . . . Blake Countess, 6th Round. . player

196th-overall selection (2016)

In fairness, Blake Countess wasn’t an awful idea in 2016. It’s just amazing that Jalen Mills was taken a round later. Mills was seen as a potential second-rounder whose ‘character concerns’ led to him falling all the way to Round 7, but let’s put that discussion on the shelf for a few moments.

Countess is a guy who’s often forgotten about from 2016’s draft class as the normal topics are often about how we should value Halapoulivaati Vaitai, what went wrong with Alex McCalister and Joe Walker, and whether or not a certain ginger-haired signal-caller can play or not.

Everyone’s just hoping to find quality talent in Round 6 of any draft. It didn’t work with Countess. He’s played 43 career games in the NFL and is currently a member of the New York Jets. None of his 54 career tackles or his two interceptions came as a member of the Eagles. To make matters worse, there a few better options available like Will Parks and Maurice Canady.

Countess gets a failing grade after doing nothing while in Philly. Grade: F
