. player. 54. . . . Jordan Poyer, 7th Round

218th-overall selection (2013)

This one points out a few things about the Eagles franchise and some of the coaches that they have employed because, despite the fact that Philadelphia got nothing out of Jordan Poyer, he’s still enjoying a successful career in the NFL albeit with the AFC East’s Buffalo Bills. Who knows? Maybe, the decision to move him to safety was the key.

Sure, the argument can be made that he also failed as a member of the Cleveland Browns and it took him five seasons to reach his potential, but come on. He’s a former seventh-round selection, and some guys are late bloomers. That’s also why these teams have coaches. Sometimes, a player’s failure is their own fault. Sometimes, it’s bad coaching.

Also, no one should be looked at unfavorably for anything that happens with the Browns. It’s, well, the Browns. What do they know about football?

As difficult as it is to do this, Poyer gets a failing grade because he never amounted to much in an Eagles jersey, but that’s at no fault of his own. With proper coaching, he could have been very serviceable for the ‘Birds’ in some capacity. Grade: F
