After spending the last seven years as a member of the Redskins, could Chris Thompson be in search of a new home for 2020?

Thompson only has one career start and 250 carries to his name since joining the NFL in 2013, but most football fans are aware that he’s more valuable in the passing game when seeing how the “running back” has 206 catches to his name dating back to the 2015 season.

Looking at Philadelphia’s situation in the backfield, Thompson may not seem like the most attractive option to join an offense that is expected to be led by Miles Sanders in 2020 along with an uncertain future for Jordan Howard.

To top it off, there’s always the chance of the Eagles finding a way to give Boston Scott a larger role after seeing how impressive the running back looked down the stretch in 2019.

If Philadelphia felt comfortable enough with Thompson being more useful in the passing game instead of more carries at running back, this would almost seem like too perfect of a fit.

Just because Thompson isn’t as valuable as a running back doesn’t mean he still wouldn’t bring a lot to the table for a team like the Eagles since results are all the team would care about at the end of the day.
