Revisiting, grading every WR Philadelphia Eagles have drafted since 2010
166th-overall selection (2017)
You know what? Somebody at the NovaCare Complex watches a ton of West Virginia Mountaineers football. In 2016 and 2017, Philly drafted three guys from the program: running back Wendell Smallwood, cornerback Rasul Douglas, and wide receiver Shelton Gibson.
From 2016 to 2018, the Eagles got 37 in-game appearances and 12 starts from Smallwood. He racked up 850 yards and five touchdowns on 211 carries and added another 388 yards and two touchdowns on 47 receptions.
Rasul Douglas, in 52 games with 20 starts, racked up 128 total tackles, five interceptions, and 26 pass breakups. That includes his playoff numbers.
Shelton Gibson was supposed to be one of the Eagles’ speed receivers but in 20 career games, he’s only been able to manage three catches on six targets. He has a total of 59 receiving yards on his NFL resume (48 of those yards came on one catch). He also has yet to find his way into an NFL end zone.
Chalk this one up as another miss on Howie Roseman’s resume. Grade: F
