Interestingly enough, in his draft profile of Jeff Gladney, NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein compares the former TCU Horned Frogs standout to current Eagles cornerback Sidney Jones, prior to the injury of course.

Regardless of what your theories are on Jones, that’s pretty high praise. It’s also not a bad comparison. Had Jones never ripped his Achilles to pieces during his Pro Day, he would have been a first-round draft selection who would have probably ended up starting in two years.

What does Zierlein say about Gladney? He gives him a 6.39 draft grade with the potential to be a starter in the first two seasons of his NFL career.

Gladney has been blessed with a nice six-foot frame, but he’s slender at 183 pounds. It will be interesting to see if teams view him as an outside corner or one they feel more comfortable sliding on the field in sub-packages to play in the slot role.

That’s worth a few healthy debates, but any team willing to invest a draft choice on Gladney gets a shot at a guy who plays hard from snap to whistle. Might that team be the Philadelphia Eagles? Time will soon tell. April is right around the corner (pun intended).
