Michael Pittman Jr. . . player. 808. . .

In all honesty, all of that talk about how an NFL team should never take a receiver from the Pac-12 Conference is a little lazy. The conference the guys play in has nothing to do with anything tangible. That’s like saying Big 12 standouts on defense should fail every year at the professional level.

Still, even with all of that being said, when you look at guys like Michael Pittman Jr., and it’s hard to determine what side of the fence you should be on.

He has a nice size to him with his six-foot-four and 223-pound frame. He carries that frame well. He just ran a 4.52-second 40-yard dash in Indy

The truth is there have been other receivers from the West Coast who failed as pros that honestly looked better as collegiate stars, but Pittman produced well in L.A., racking up 171 receptions, 2,519 receiving yards, and 19 touchdowns over the course of 41 career appearances.

Pittman isn’t lacking in skill by any means, but when Philly already has JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, and all of these other guys who help in the physical aspects of the game, it might behoove the ‘Birds’ to go with someone who’s probably more of a burner. Pittman may lack the suddenness and burst the Eagles and their fans are looking for.
