Rightfully so, Joe Burrow is receiving most of the attention when it comes to the top player from LSU expected to go in the first round of the draft, but the Tigers should see plenty members of their defense get selected on opening night as well.

In fact, the argument can be made that if it weren’t for LSU’s stellar play on the defensive side of the football, the Tigers never would have gone on to win the title.

When it comes to defensive prospects worth keeping an eye on in the first round from LSU, Grant Delpit is another name that could be available at No. 21 for Philadelphia to consider.

Delpit’s skills as a tackler will clearly need improvement once he arrives to the NFL, but at least the safety finds ways to make up for it in other areas, including physical style of play.

Looking at some of the mock drafts from the last couple of months, there are plenty of reasons to believe that Delpit will hear his name called on opening night, and could even be in position to make an impact right away with the proper coaching.

Jenkins is going to be difficult to replace as previously mentioned, but from a developmental standpoint, the potential is going to be there with Delpit.
