Jalen Mills, converted to safety. . player. 54. . .

Everyone loves Jalen Mills. The coaches love him. His teammates love him. The front office loves him. No, he isn’t a better safety than Malcolm Jenkins is right now, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t grow into the role.

We all get mad at the “Green Goblin” from time to time when we watch him play, but the team plays harder and is picked up when he’s out there. It isn’t his fault that “27” isn’t here, and those of us that haven’t moved on from their decision to move on will need to do a better job of understanding that none of your animosity should be directed at Mills. Grade: C

54. . . . Hassan Ridgeway, defensive tackle. . player

Even though he’s currently still listed on Philly’s injured reserve, we can all understand the decision making behind the Hassan Ridgeway extension. Well, at least we could when it first happened.

Now, in hindsight, it would have made more sense if Philly would have just taken Hargrave instead. If you’re not on that train, you could also argue that it would have made more sense if the Eagles would have just extended Ridgeway and addressed other needs with their spending money instead of adding another defensive tackle, even if that defensive tackle is one as good as Hargrave is.

With Bruce HectorAnthony Rush, and Albert Huggins on the roster, it just feels like Philly doesn’t need every one of those guys. Grade: C-
