Philadelphia Eagles: 3 reasons to avoid signing Joe Flacco in 2020
By Dan Parzych
1. Flacco is still available for a reason
As previously mentioned, free agency has basically been in full swing for about a week, meaning there has been plenty of time for Flacco to find a team in need of depth at quarterback to make a move for the veteran.
And while this could still very well happen over the next couple of days, weeks, or even months, if teams were really high on Flacco at this stage of his career, chances are they would have made some sort of move by now.
Even the Broncos could have convinced Flacco to stick around in order to mentor Drew Lock, although part of the reason behind Denver’s decision was due to the hefty price tag he brought to the table.
Still, the fact that Flacco is still available at this stage in free agency is a pretty clear sign that a majority of teams believe there isn’t much he can still bring to the table, and they would be better off with other options, which should be the mindset for the Eagles.
There are certainly a few factors Philadelphia fans could present for the team to consider the move for Flacco, but at the end of the day, the Eagles should just keep things as they are at quarterback.
