Act 2: A little sunlight peeks through the clouds.

Recently, Eagles vice president and general manager Howie Roseman spoke with Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro, and what we can take from that conversation is this. The angst much of the Eagles fan base carries for “17” isn’t shared by the guy that’s caught 188 passes and 22 touchdowns in an Eagles jersey. Take a look.

"I think when we talk about Alshon, some of the things that people don’t get to see that we get to see on a daily basis is this guy wants to win world cahmpionships in Philly. He has told me recently how much he wants to win for our fans and for our city. He has those same conversations with other people in the building. It is important for him (and to him) to be a Philadelphia Eagle. He understands (how) people feel about him right now, and he’s not sitting there feeling sorry for himself. He’s in there trying to work to remind people about the kind of player that he’s been for our football team."

Time heals all things. The question is how much time do the “Birds” and their fans need to allow themselves to put this behind them. Carson Wentz once spoke about Jeffery stating. “I love the guy”. Maybe the worst of this is over. Maybe everyone’s past this because here’s what we can guarantee. If the guys on the team and the Eagles brass are over this hiccup, the fans should be too. The general manager puts it in a nice light.

“Alshon’s a good player, and I think we lose sight of that a little bit and the things that he can do when he’s healthy”. All fans have their opinion, but as Howie Roseman stated, the Eagles’ leadership and players spend more time around each other than any of us can spend with them. Maybe this situation isn’t as bad as it once looked. Maybe the Eagles’ locker room is on the road to recovery.
