Grades for every Philadelphia Eagles safety drafted since 2010
If you’re ever conversing with an Eagles fan and Jaiquawn Jarrett‘s name comes up, don’t be surprised or too upset with them if they don’t immediately recall that he was actually a second-round draft choice. Sure, we all remember that he was on the team, but he just doesn’t feel like a second-rounder. He never lived up to the billing or that selection.
Jarrett only appeared in 13 games as an Eagle with two starts. The result was 17 tackles. He didn’t record a sack or force a fumble. He never intercepted a pass or broke any up.
To make matters worse, Justin Houston and Randall Cobb were both available when Philly called Jarrett’s name, and another safety, Chris Conte, was taken 39 selections later with the 93rd-overall selection by the Chicago Bears. All three had better careers than a guy Philly could have scouted better, seeing as how they found him in their backyard at Temple. Grade: F
