Grades for every Philadelphia Eagles safety drafted since 2010
Jaylen Watkins is just a member of the Eagles family. There’s no other way to put it. No matter where his NFL career takes him. No matter what happens, it just feels like, at some point, Watkins will find his way back to the nest.
Watkins was drafted by the “Birds” in 2014, released in September of 2015, and re-signed by Philly off of the Buffalo Bills‘ practice squad in November of that same season. He’s bounced around a little. He’s currently on the Houston Texans‘ roster, but with the way these Eagles work, one can never rule out the possibility that he’ll be back.
He’s probably never going to be an All-Pro, but he’s been serviceable every time the Eagles have called on him. Grade: C
Ed Reynolds isn’t a name that jumps out at you, and after appearing in only six games with three starts as an Eagle, his career in Philadelphia seemingly ended just as quickly as it started. While he’s technically still listed as a free agent, after being waived by the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks, it appears that his time as a professional athlete is probably over. Grade: F
