Chicago Bears: Roquan Smith

Along with Edmunds back in 2018, Roquan Smith was considered one of the top linebackers from the draft class, and appeared to be a great fit for the Chicago Bears at No. 8 after seeing the impact made over the years during his time at Georgia.

Even though the Bears took a bit of a step back as a team this past season after winning the NFC North the year before, Smith clearly still has a bright NFL future after watching his level of play from the last two seasons.

Sooner or later, the Eagles are going to be part of an offseason in which linebacker isn’t one of their top needs, as this always seems to be an issue each year.

Similar to the scenario with Edmunds back in 2018, Philadelphia knew it was nearly impossible to land Smith without trading up in the first round since he was projected to be a top-10 pick for a reason.

Knowing Smith, this is another player who is only going to continue getting better with NFL experience, and the Bears are obviously lucky to have him part of their defense since the unit has made a name for themselves over the last few years.

The Bears considering a trade involving Smith after only two seasons is obviously another long shot, but the Eagles can always dream, right?
