player. 815. Scouting Report. Kenneth Murray. 4. Pick Analysis. Linebacker. Oklahoma

As previously mentioned when discussing Simmons, linebacker always seems to be a position in need of improvement over the last few seasons for the Eagles, and if they decide to hold off selecting one in the first round of the draft, it shouldn’t be too long until the team finds someone.

Trading up in the first round to help fill the need may seem unnecessary to some Philadelphia fans, but another name worth keeping an eye on if the Eagles decide to focus on the need right away is Kenneth Murray.

Based off the three years Murray spent at Oklahoma, the star linebacker looks to be the kind of player who gets better with experience, and if the transition to the NFL ends up going smooth, this should be a similar case in the big league.

Just like Becton, Murray was originally expected to go somewhere towards the end of the first round or early on in the second to help fill a team’s need at the linebacker position, but his stock has somewhat been on the rise in recent weeks.

In other words, this is another scenario in which Philadelphia could always risk the possibility of Murray falling to them in the first round, but also need to decide if it would be worth the risk.
