K.J. Hamler and 5 wide receiver targets for Eagles in second round of draft
By Dan Parzych
Could the Eagles catch a break by seeing Tee Higgins slip into the second round of the draft to potentially turn out to be a steal?
Plenty could happen over the next couple of weeks before the draft arrives, and plenty of football fans believe the Clemson star could work his way into falling towards the end of the first round since numerous teams need help at wideout.
But if Higgins slips, Philadelphia would be foolish to pass on the opportunity to help fill their own need at the position.
One can only imagine how the Tigers would have been on offense in each of the last two seasons if it weren’t for Higgins, and the wideout has the kind of ball skills that would help a receiving corps like the Eagles improve right away.
With 25 touchdown catches over his final two seasons, Higgins could eventually develop into the No. 1 receiver Philadelphia needs down the road, although he will eventually need to become more physical at the NFL level.
Still, hopefully once Higgins does make the official transition to the NFL, this is one of the areas he can improve on to help live up to the hype as one of the top receivers from this year’s draft class.
