836. . . . Darnay Holmes, UCLA. 2. player

The Florida State Seminoles‘ standout Stanford Samuels III hurt himself with a 4.65-second 40-yard dash in Indy. The Alabama Crimson Tide‘s Shyheim Carter is probably better suited to play safety at the pro level, and the Pittsburgh Panthers’ Dane Jackson turned in a less-than-impressive effort at the Senior Bowl.

For that reason, former UCLA Bruins standout Darnay Holmes edges out each of those three for a spot on this list. He’s a five-foot-ten and tips the scales at 199 pounds. During his collegiate career, he appeared in 35 games and hauled the ball carrier down 120 times. That includes 88 solo stops and three tackles for a loss.

Add that to eight career interceptions, 17 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two defensive scores, and it’s easy to see that he’s got a chance to be just as good if not better than the guys the Eagles already have on the roster.
