The good news for Philadelphia Eagles fans is this. An elite offense in 2020 is only a few minor adjustments away.

The best teams in the NFL know what they do well on offense and how to expand on it in the future. For the Philadelphia Eagles to take flight in 2020, despite what you may have heard, fielding an elite offense only needs a few slight adjustments (after they draft a wide receiver of course).

Too many times in 2019, the Eagles relied on short passes to move the ball downfield. That’s great for a ball-control style of offense, but that only works when your receivers are catching the ball and when your team isn’t trailing.

Then, there’s this. The absurd amount of injuries the Eagles endured on offense in 2019 played a large role in how the staff had to prepare for games. Doug Pederson is well known for his creativity, and he’ll have to showcase that creativity more often if the Eagles are going to make it easier on themselves and keep the chains moving.

With everyone healthy for next season, it remains to be seen if Pederson will open up the playbook a bit more, but for Philly’s offense to be elite, here are for things that need to happen.
