Philadelphia Eagles: Ranking NFL Draft’s top 20 wide receivers
A 4.38-second 40-yard dash isn’t going to turn anyone off when it comes to discussions about Denzel Mims. Neither is his 38.5-inch vertical and a six-foot-two, 206-pound frame.
He caught 66 passes for 1,020 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2019, giving him186 receptions and 2,925 yards for 28 trips to the end zone for his 40-game career in Waco. He’ll catch someone’s attention sometime around Round 2.
If Jalen Reagor was about two inches taller, he’d probably be in everyone’s top five. He could have played anywhere in the country, but he decided on the TCU Horned Frogs to stay close to family.
The 4.47-second 40 catches your attention. The character he possesses could shoot his draft stock higher than most of us are expecting. This guy is a sure thing.
The next time you’re talking with some friends and the subject of guys who helped themselves at the most recent NFL Scouting Combine comes up, make sure you bring up former Notre Dame Fighting Irish star Chase Claypool.
He had a nice workout. He ran the 40 faster than most expected. He’s just outside the top five on this list, and most likely a lock to hear his name called in Round 2.
