Philadelphia Eagles: Ranking 2020 NFL Draft’s top 20 safeties
In former UCLA Bruins standout Darnay Holmes, the Eagles might find something that they just can’t get enough of, versatility. He’s capable of playing the slot corner role as his five-foot-ten, 192-pound frame probably won’t agree with the demands of playing an outside corner in the pro game.
Then again, even though he ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash at the combine, his skill set might be better suited to play free safety. Keep an eye on him. This could get interesting.
J.R. Reed shared the field with some of the best talents in the country every week at the collegiate level. Such is the life of a safety playing the treacherous schedule of any team that’s a member of the mighty SEC.
Coming out of that gauntlet with 199 total tackles, three sacks, five interceptions, 14 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and two defensive touchdowns throughout 42 career games should make the mouths of a few scouts water.
Ashtyn Davis is Michael Vick’s size if you’re trying to picture what some of these guys look like. Well, almost.
He’s six-foot-one and tips the scales at 195 pounds. He racked up 166 total tackles and seven interceptions at the collegiate level. he has a lot of upside to talk about, and he should make one the NFL’s 32 teams very happy.
