Madre Harper might be the steal of the draft if all goes according to plan for the cornerback.

As a press-man corner, Harper loves to play physical and get in receivers’ faces. While he did play at a Southern Illinois, an FCS school, he originally went to Oklahoma State and faced off against wide receiver James Washington every day in practice.

In 2018, Harper lined up against D.K. Metcalf and A.J. Brown when Southern Illinois faced Ole Miss, showing how much he has been tested throughout his career.

Harper also possesses the measurables of a power five player. At six-foot-two and 190 pounds, Harper runs a 4.42 40-yard dash and has a 40-inch vertical.

Not to mention, he has 34-inch arms, and is nearly unstoppable in contested catch situations because of this.

He also plays on special teams thanks to his speed, and his willingness to play press-man and go wherever his coaches tell him is something you have to admire in the young man.

During his time at Southern Illinois, Harper was an honorable mention for the All Missouri Valley Football Conference team, which is a talented FCS conference.

Harper also finished 17th in the FCS with 12 pass breakups in 2019, but he does need to work on his technique, which will be a major factor in his growth.

This is a guy who is going to give it his all each time on the football field and won’t quit. If the Eagles give Harper a shot and let him develop behind the experienced cornerbacks on the roster, this move could pay off in a big way.
