Scouting Report. Grant Delpit. player. Pick Analysis. Safety. LSU. 4. 54

After winning the National Championship this past season, no one should be surprised by all of the great talent selected in the first round of the draft on both sides of the football for LSU.

The Tigers are usually a popular team for defensive talent when it comes to the NFL Draft, and this year will be no different when looking at all of the prospects expected to make an impact right away, including Grant Delpit at safety.

There has been plenty of debate over the months in regards to whether Delpit would end up being a first rounder or have to wait until Day 2 to hear his name called.

But as disappointing as Delpit may feel over having to wait until Friday to find out, at least the safety will have the opportunity to compete for significant playing time right away as a rookie, whether it happens to be with the Eagles or another team.

One of the main reasons why Delpit most likely fell to the second day of the draft was due to his poor tackling, but hopefully this area can improve with the right coaching at the NFL level.

Philadelphia has some questions at the safety position now that Malcolm Jenkins is no longer around, and even though Delpit is nowhere close to being on the same level as the former Eagles veteran leader, at least it would be a step in the right direction potential wise.
