Philadelphia Eagles: Best picks still available for No. 53 of 2020 NFL Draft
By Dan Parzych
A defensive coordinator like Jim Schwartz will always be open to welcoming new pass rushers on board if it will put the defense in better shape, and Zack Baun‘s career at Wisconsin makes it clear that it won’t be long until he is off the board in the second round.
Baun always displayed all sorts of potential throughout most of his career with the Badgers, but the young defender really took things to a new level as a senior after recording 12.5 sacks in 14 games.
The chance of Baun making a similar impact at the NFL level may not happen right away, but also certainly possible since falling to the second round sometimes motivates these kinds of players to prove their doubters run.
Like most players entering the league, Baun has a few areas that will need to improve such as ability to use his hands or upper-body strength.
But also, Baun makes up for it in other areas, whether it happens to be his explosive burst or overall athleticism.
Linebacker has been an inconsistent position for the Eagles at times over the years, and if Baun were to be selected in the second round, he would have a great chance at competing for a starting job right away.
