Quez Watkins. player. 54. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. Southern Mississippi. 1. Scouting Report

One of the main reasons Philadelphia was so excited about the selection of Reagor in the first round was due to the receiver’s blazing speed, and if the Eagles are looking for another fast wideout, Quez Watkins could be another option to keep an eye on.

Watkins has the explosive kind of play that could result in this pick turning out to be a potential steal on the final day of the draft, whether he happens to join Philadelphia or another team looking to add depth to the wide receiver position.

After a decent freshman campaign at Southern Mississippi, Watkins really stepped up over the last two seasons to help improve his draft stock by hauling in 136 catches for 2,067 yards to go along with 15 touchdowns in 23 games.

And if these numbers didn’t seem impressive enough, another intriguing factor about Watkins is his ability to contribute on special teams as well if needed.

Just like a few other players already discussed, Watkins is another young wideout the Eagles could afford to be patient with for a year or two to develop given their current situation at wideout.

Finding hidden gems on the final day is always one of the biggest challenges of the draft, and even though Watkins still has plenty to prove at the NFL level, the Southern Mississippi star seems worth the risk.
