Wide Receiver. John Hightower. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 54. Boise State. 168

Grade: B

To say the Eagles were in desperate need of help at the wide receiver position entering the draft would be a huge understatement when looking at some of the players Wentz was forced to work with down the stretch last season.

When it comes to the top wideout for Philadelphia from this year’s draft class, Reagor will obviously stand out since the Eagles used a first-round pick on the TCU product for a reason, but the hope is John Hightower can turn out to be a surprise impact player as well.

Even though the Eagles had numerous positions in need of improvement, they were considered strong candidates to end up using multiple picks at wide receiver.

In fact, after seeing how Philadelphia ended up selecting three receivers total over the course of the draft, this shows the team is considering all options for the 2020 season to avoid another situation like last year where they lacked depth big time.

Speed appears to be a popular trend for the Eagles in regards to the wide receivers selected in this year’s draft after seeing what Hightower was able to accomplish at Boise State.

Between Hightower’s speed along with the numbers displayed as a senior (51 catches for 943 yards with eight touchdowns), this is another pick in which Philadelphia could end up with a potential steal at wideout.
