Scouting Report. Quez Watkins. player. 54. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. Southern Mississippi. 200

Grade: A-

For their third and final wide receiver selected in the draft, the Eagles hope to see Quez Watkins turn out to be another potential steal in the passing game, which could actually very well turn out to be the case.

After seeing all of the receivers selected over the first three rounds of the draft, Watkins appeared to be a strong candidate to end up being a steal on Day 3 for a team in need of help at wideout.

Once again, speed is one of the main reasons behind Philadelphia’s interest in Watkins after looking at how much of a nightmare he appeared to be throughout his career at Southern Mississippi for opponents.

Along with his blazing speed, the numbers displayed by Watkins in 23 games over the last two seasons (136 catches for 2,067 yards and 15 touchdowns) just adds to the list of reasons behind why this was such a great pick for the Eagles.

Some fans will criticize Philadelphia for using three picks in the draft on the same position, but also the argument can be made this is the perfect opportunity to find the best talent.

If Watkins can find a way to stand out, and show he deserved to be selected earlier than the sixth round, the Eagles could see the speedster make a strong case for a roster spot down the road.
