2. Nate Sudfeld

As previously mentioned, one of the biggest surprises of the draft was easily Philadelphia’s decision to select Hurts in the second round, mainly because the team still had more important needs to fill at other positions.

But from a talent and potential perspective, the Eagles have plenty of reasons to be excited over this move, because if all goes well, Hurts will put Philadelphia in great position at backup quarterback for years to come.

Not to mention, with Doug Pederson already making it clear that he hopes to use Hurts in additional ways on offense, this could make the unit even more dangerous heading into next season.

With that being said, as difficult as the addition of Hurts is for Nate Sudfeld, this is a major upgrade for the Eagles at the backup quarterback position.

Carson Wentz’s job is obviously secure for numerous reasons, but due to his previous history of injuries, at least Hurts should be a reliable option just in case.

Turns out, one of the best decisions Philadelphia made this offseason was only signing Sudfeld to a one-year deal since the addition of Hurts most likely means the team will move on from the Indiana product beyond the 2020 season.
