5 Philadelphia Eagles who could lose their job following 2020 NFL Draft
By Dan Parzych
1. J.J. Arcega-Whiteside
Around this time last year, there was plenty of excitement surrounding Philadelphia using a second-round pick on Arcega-Whiteside to provide the Eagles with another weapon in the passing game.
Even if Philadelphia was already stacked with players such as Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, and Nelson Agholor, Arcega-Whiteside seemed like he would benefit from playing alongside his teammates to see additional passes thrown in his direction.
Instead, numerous injuries and missed opportunities to step up that included five starts resulted in Arcega-Whiteside catching just 10 passes during his rookie campaign while putting even more pressure on his second NFL season.
Due to all of the previous hype surrounding Arcega-Whiteside, it would be easy to make the case that Philadelphia shouldn’t give up on the wideout just yet since the hope is he finds a way to turn things around while learning from previous mistakes.
But after seeing all of the great talent added at the position during the draft, the pressure is on Arcega-Whiteside more than ever. And if one of the newest rookies finds a way to stand out leading up to September, the Stanford product could end up being the odd-man out.
