. . . New York Giants. 3. team. 31

The New York Giants made their intentions clear in the most recent NFL Draft. Find protection for Daniel Jones. Fix the secondary. Find guys to strengthen the second level of the defense. They made some nice strides to do all of that.

They took Andrew Thomas fourth-overall, and though he should be pretty good, you can also make the argument that “Big Blue” reached by passing over three offensive tackles that are probably better (Tristan WirfsJedrick Wills, and Mekhi Becton).

Thay made up for that with a sure thing at safety in the second round (Xavier McKinney), and they snagged a corner who could wind up being pretty good in Round 4 (Darnay Holmes).

James Bradberry was a nice addition in free agency as was Blake Martinez, but Saquon Barkley remains the only offensive weapon that they have that frightens people (no disrespect to Sterling ShepardDarius Slayton, and Evan Engram). The Giants are better now than they were in January, and they’re better than Washington, but the NFC East will, again, belong to the Dallas Cowboys or the Philadelphia Eagles.
