2. Corey Clement

As exciting as it was for some Philadelphia fans to hear the recent news that Corey Clement was coming back on a one-year deal, there is still no guarantee that he will earn one of the roster spots.

The good news for Clement is no matter what ends up happening, the running back will forever be a favorite among Eagles fans for the work put in a few years ago to help the team bring home their first Super Bowl title.

But unfortunately, the 2017 season was Clement’s only real season of impact, as a few injuries prevented him from living up to his true potential over the last two years, including 2019 when he appeared in just four games, and basically just contributed on special teams.

By signing Clement to a one-year deal, Philadelphia knew they had nothing to lose in bringing the running back for another season, and would love nothing more than to see him stay healthy to make more of an impact on offense.

However, this is another situation similar to Holyfield in which Clement could be another running back who drops on the depth chart, as he currently sits as the No. 3 man on the roster behind Sanders and Boston Scott.

Most likely, Philadelphia would still be able to find some sort of role for Clement if Hyde were to become part of what would be a crowded backfield, but also this would easily add extra pressure to the former Wisconsin star.
