. . Elijah Holyfield, running back. . player. 54.

Miles Sanders has earned his spot on the roster. It’s going to be hard to talk anybody into the possibility of cutting Boston Scott after what we saw from him a season ago. Corey Clement just signed a one-year extension, so he’ll be here if he’s healthy.

Also on the Eagles depth chart at running back are two very talented and very hungry young guns who both can fly, Michael Waren II and Adrian Killins Jr. Any college football fan knows what they’re capable of, and it’s probably safe to assume that they didn’t come to Philly with any ideas of accepting the role of being guys who are going to hang out on the practice squad, better known as “football limbo”.

There have been rumors about adding Carlos Hyde, and that makes the mind ask questions like if they’re any other free agents available who are less expensive and interesting. It also might make one question whether or not Philly might still be eyeing guys who went undrafted at the running back position as potential prospects.

Don’t forget about Elijah Holyfield though. Some Eagle fanatics have already penciled him in on the roster and have placed him as the fourth guy on the depth chart at the position. He just doesn’t get a ton of mention. Maybe we should all start saying his name more often.

Much like Genard Avery, Philly added Holyfield late, and the gameplan, at that time, was bringing him in so he’ll get a jumpstart on the 2021 season. Let’s see if that sticks or if he gets left off of the final roster in 2020 entirely.
