. Cre'Von LeBlanc. 3. player. 54. .

LeBlanc missed most of 2019 due to a foot injury he sustained during camp, but the Eagles liked him enough to give him a one-year contract extension through 2020. In LeBlanc’s limited time on the field in midnight green, he’s pieced together a handful of nice plays on tape. His only drawback is his limited experience. He just hasn’t been healthy.

Meanwhile. the Eagles’ have played musical chairs at cornerback. Some can’t stay healthy. Others can’t piece together back-to-back games with quality play. Other than his interception versus Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in 2019 during the Divisional Round of the 2018-2019 season, what’s he known for?

In 12 regular-season games over two seasons, LeBlanc has turned in 32 tackles and three passes defended. In three playoff games, he has 11 tackles, five passes defended, one quarterback hit and one interception. His stat line, oddly enough, looks better in the playoffs than it does in the regular season.

LeBlanc plays with physicality and seems to bring the energy when he steps foot on the field. He does have some positional versatility, but when he returned from injury in 2019, Schwartz didn’t provide too much excitement when discussing his return, stating “He’s an important member of our defense” and “We certainly have roles that he can fill”.

LeBlanc returned in Week 14 of the 2019 season, but he played less than 25 percent of defensive snaps in the season finale. To make matters worse, Ronald Darby and Mills were both out for Week 17, so LeBlanc was only inserted into the lineup because he had to be.

LeBlanc isn’t someone who needs to start for a full 16 games. He has shown flashes, but he’s never proven he can play as a consistent top option in the slot.
