Kyle Lauletta, quarterback. 1. player. 54. . .

No Giants allowed, at least not this one.

Those of you that want to release Kyle Lauletta strictly on the basis that he came to Philly by way of the hated New York Giants may have a point, but let’s dig a little deeper than that. There isn’t much to this young man’s NFL story other than the fact that in his only two on-field appearances in a game that affected New York’s win-loss total, things didn’t go well.

In his first, he stepped in on December 9th of 2018 to relieve Eli Manning in a game the Giants had already won handily. For whatever reason, despite being up by over 20 points in the fourth quarter versus the Washington Redskins, “Big Blue” was still passing. Lauletta went zero for five in that one and threw a pass to the wrong colored jersey. His only other appearance came in Week 17 of that same season versus the Dallas Cowboys as a blocker.

He’s never completed a pass in the NFL, and he’s even experienced some off-field issues. He’s the fourth quarterback on the Eagles depth chart at the moment but only because most NFL teams walk into the preseason with four quarterbacks.

It’s safe to say we already know who the Eagles top three signal-callers are, and their names are Carson Wentz, Nate Sudfeld, and Jalen Hurts. Unless someone gets hurt and is placed on the team’s IR before the preseason ends, every snap given to Lauletta should be viewed as nothing more than his audition for the other 31 NFL teams.
