10 Best Moments from 2019’s Philadelphia Eagles season

9. The “White Snake” takes one to the house in a dominating Philadelphia Eagles performance.
In Week 5, “Birds” fans were treated to something that they desperately needed, a one-game vacation from the anguish of a season that had given us all too many tense moments and, at times, made us wish they had a reset button.
After getting off to a 2-2 start that probably should have been a 4-0 start, Philly returned to the friendly confines of Lincoln Financial Field to meet a New York Jets squad they were supposed to beat. There was a slight nervousness. Too often this team had faltered in those types of situations, but this time, they’d win as the favorites.
Everything went right as a game Eagles team won by 25 in a 31-6 game that led to multiple highlight-reel moments including two that led to defensive scores. Love him or hate him (and most “Birds” fans are on the latter train), there was Orlando Scandrick’s strip of Luke Falk and his return for a touchdown. There was also Nathan Gerry’s pick-six on a 4th-and-one play that helped put the Eagles up by a score of 14-0.
That one opened the floodgates and spearheaded a win in a game that was never in doubt after the “White Snake” turned defense into offense. Nothing gets a crowd going like a defensive touchdown, and this is one that truly got the fans going at the “Linc”. The game was never in doubt after that.
