Power rankings, analysis for every Philadelphia Eagles NFC West opponent

team. 42. . . . San Francisco 49ers. 1
An early-season clash with the reigning NFC Champions will tell us a lot about this Eagles team.
Every team wants to see how well they can compete against the best teams in the NFL. This season in the NFC, it’s the San Francisco 49ers that have the targets on their back.
After walking out of Miami and falling just short of every team’s goal, hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy, San Fran immediately began adding pieces to an already stellar roster. First, there were the signings of four free agents, including wide receiver Travis Benjamin and linebacker (and former Eagle) Joe Walker. That was followed by the selection of five draft prospects, including two first-round draft choices, defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
Keep in mind the fact that they already have one of the game’s best young head coaches in Kyle Shanahan. He’s regarded throughout the league and in the media as one of the NFL’s most gifted offensive minds.

Don’t expect any “Super Bowl slumps” in the Bay Area. The “Birds” will get an opportunity to test themselves against the Niners early. These two proud franchises meet in Week 4 on Sunday Night Football. That one should do some pretty nice numbers.
