1. player. 54. . . . Defensive tackle

If you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, you had to know that this was coming.

Here’s a unit that probably would have earned a passing grade if they were forced to rely on Anthony Rush, Hassan Ridgeway, Malik Jackson, and Fletcher Cox. That alone would make them pretty formidable and give them a nice rotation.

Throw in the addition of Javon Hargrave during the most recent free agency frenzy, and what probably would have been an A-minus rotation immediately upgrades to an A-plus. Good luck with trying to block these guys. Good luck trying to contain the pass rush of this Eagles interior, and who the heck knows how anyone plans to run on this team.

The star is Fletcher Cox. 2019 was one of his worst seasons as a professional statistically and from a health standpoint, but he made the Pro Bowl anyway. Unless something catastrophic happens, he’ll make the Pro Football Hall of Fame when his playing days are over.

With this team’s rotation at defensive tackle, it may not matter who they place on the outside. They’ll create an opportunity for the edge guys to make plays but get this. Even if they find themselves in a pinch, they can kick Jackson out to the defensive end position. He’s as versatile as a defensive lineman can be, and Philly is certain to utilize that versatility in the coming season.

These Eagles defensive tackles are the strength of this defensive unit and the strength of this Eagles team. Expect a ton of production from them. Grade: A+
