The 2019 Philadelphia Eagles, without question, get an honorable mention.

The 2019 Philadelphia Eagles season is the main reason everyone felt that this team had a drastic need for pass catchers. When healthy, they couldn’t get out of their own way with drops. When the injury bug chomped away at them, there were guys out there that were fresh off the practice squad.

During the Eagles overtime win versus the New York Giants, they played the majority of the game with three tight ends and one healthy receiver. You read that correctly. One. That receiver was J.J. Arcega-Whiteside. While Greg Ward would prove his worth a week later, other unknown commodities like Deontay Burnett and Robert Davis might be on a collision course with being the answers to a trivia question at some point down the road.

2019’s crew is often mentioned more so for what they didn’t do than what they did.  the bizarre situation than lack of heart, effort, or skill. Of those three aforementioned tight ends, yes Josh Perkins was unheralded, but Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert are in the upper echelon of the position, which certainly helped. They aren’t included in the list, but the season at least deserves mention. Now on with the actual list.
