Well, by now, your Philadelphia Eagles roster projection is probably in the toilet.

Well, that didn’t take long, did it? Those of you who put roster projections together, whether publicly or in your head are probably just as shocked as the rest of us. On September’s 3rd day, the Philadelphia Eagles announced several roster transactions, 13 at the time of this story being published to be exact.

When they were done, 12 players had been waived, and one that we expected to go on IR (injured reserve) was officially added to the list. We have much to discuss.

Here’s one thought on every player that the Philadelphia Eagles mentioned.

Andre Dillard: This one shouldn’t surprise anyone as we’ve known about this for quite some time.

Elijah Holyfield: This is one of the surprises as we’ve been thinking he’d make the 2020 roster since 2019.

Luke Juriga: He wasn’t beating out Jason Kelce, and rarely have the Eagles kept two centers.

Adrian Killins: He’ll be back on the practice squad.

Elijah Riley: Philly really liked him, so it will be interesting to see if he’s back at some point.

Tyrone Swoopes: He joined the team late, and no one saw him as a serious contender for a roster spot.

Michael Warren: It makes sense as, on a list of six running backs, he was probably the sixth on the depth chart.

Manasseh Bailey: Too many bodies in camp at the wide receiver position was never good news for Mr. Bailey.

Deontay Burnett: They like him a lot, he’s experienced, and he might be back on the practice squad.

Travis Fulgham: We hate to be cruel, but he never had a real shot without four preseason games.

Julian Good-Jones: Some expected him to be among the last wave of cuts, so this isn’t really a surprise.

Marcus Green: If Philly brings a wide receiver or two back to the practice squad, he and Burnett will probably be called first.

Grayland Arnold: This was the undrafted rookie that had the best chance of making the roster, and his inclusion on this list might have some wondering what the Eagles are doing.

As of right now, the roster sits at 67 players. 13 more moves will need to be made by Saturday. Things are starting to get interesting.
