The Philadelphia Eagles need to score fast and often early on Sunday.

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson looks to be healthy. He was an active participant in this year’s version of training camp, and there don’t seem to be any lingering effects from his 2019 abdominal injury. He hasn’t appeared in this week’s injury report, and that’s a great thing. It means he should be available for Week 1.

‘D-Jax’ could very well be matched against one player Philadelphia fans know very well, Ronald Darby. His job is to minimize Jackson’s impact, but the question is whether or not he can. This is a matchup ’10’ should win more often than not. If Wentz can stretch the field early, Washington’s secondary will be in for a very long day.

. . Miles Sanders, running back. 3. player. 54.

Miles Sanders was limited in practice as recently as Thursday with a hamstring injury. Although it may have been a precautionary measure, the running back needs to bring his ‘A game’ to the Eagles’ season opener. Sanders scored once on the ground against Washington in their Week 15 matchup, but his rushing-touchdown total needs to go up after finishing the 2019 campaign with three.

Last season, Washington’s defense allowed 14 rushing touchdowns, which ranked 17th in the league. This year, their defensive front will be more stout. If the Eagles want to avoid becoming a one-dimensional offense, Sanders must play solidly and be productive.
