This Zach Ertz situation with the Philadelphia Eagles isn’t getting any better.

Well, this isn’t good. The heightened tensions between the Philadelphia Eagles, particularly with their vice president and general manager Howie Roseman, and their star tight end, Zach Ertz, have seemingly reached a fever pitch, and not in a good way.

According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, ’86’ and Roseman had a blowup recently, a continuation of what’s gone on since Philly decided to halt contract negotiations. That’s definitely not what you want to hear with the first game of a new season approaching.

Take a look at this one.

Sadly, our Philadelphia Eagles are behaving like the Dallas Cowboys.

As sad as it is, the usually stable Eagles organization, over the past two seasons, is starting to resemble that so-called ‘America’s Team’ from Texas. As much as we’d hate to call anyone dishonest, especially if we don’t have first-hand knowledge of everything, Philly’s G.M. and head coach don’t seem to be as honest as they used to be.

Come on. Do you believe Jason Peters didn’t know that he was getting a pay raise before he waked in Pederson’s office and told his coach what position he was going to play? And, how does that guy become a team captain while Ertz who’s never been a distraction isn’t? What type of precedent does that start?

The next time Wentz has to miss a game and the backup quarterback says he doesn’t want to go in until his salary is restructured to reflect that of a starter’s, remember ‘The Bodyguard’. Should Ertz have gone ‘Deebo’ on Roseman? Maybe not (Oh, that’s a Friday reference for those of you who are confused), but before you flip your wig, remember something.

Think about your own job. Would you be ticked if you deserved a raise but didn’t get it and then had to watch a colleague who also wanted one get his money after a few temper tantrums? Ertz isn’t wrong here. ’86’ wants to be compensated. He wants to be appreciated, just like you do on your job.  Call us crazy, but the ITI staff forgives him. He’s never been an issue. We’ll let him slide in this situation.
